Real coffee, fresh pastries, seven days a week

A neighbourhood espresso bar roasting its own beans and baking fresh pastries daily. No corporate fluff — just honest coffee done right.

No loyalty apps, no upselling scripts — just the person behind the counter, glad you stopped by.

How we do it

In-house roasting, fresh baking, and espresso dialled in every single morning

Most cafes buy pre-roasted beans, heat them up, and call it coffee. We don't do that. We roast our own beans in-house, which means you're getting coffee at peak freshness — not something that's been sitting in a warehouse for weeks. You can taste the difference, and that's the whole point.

Every morning before we open, our espresso is dialled in fresh. Grind size, dose, shot time — all checked and adjusted for the day. It's a small habit that makes a big difference. Whether you order a flat white or a long black, you're getting a consistent, properly pulled shot every time.

The pastries follow the same logic. Nothing arrives frozen or pre-packaged from a distribution centre. Everything is baked fresh on site each day — croissants, Danishes, whatever's just come out of the oven. If it's not fresh, it's not on the counter.

And we're here seven days a week, no exceptions. We know what it means to be a reliable part of someone's morning routine, and we take that seriously. No surprise closures, no unexpected "limited hours" signs on the door. Just us, your coffee, and a genuinely warm welcome whenever you walk in.

01

We Roast Our Own Beans

Every shot we pull starts with beans we roast ourselves. That means fresher flavour, full traceability, and a cup that actually tastes like something. No middleman, no mystery — just great coffee from source to cup.

◆ Roasted in-house for maximum freshness & flavour

02

Proper Espresso

We care about the craft — dialled-in every morning, consistent every time. Whether it's a long black or a flat white, we get it right. No shortcuts, no burnt shots, no excuses.

◆ Small, independent — every cup made with care

03

Fresh Pastries Daily

Baked fresh each day, not shipped in from a warehouse. Grab a croissant, a Danish, or whatever's just come out of the oven. You'll know the difference — and so will your morning.

Questions

Before you stop by

The stuff people usually wonder about — answered straight, no fluff.

What kind of coffee do you serve?

We're a proper espresso bar — flat whites, long blacks, lattes, the lot. Every shot starts with beans we roast ourselves in-house, so you're getting fresher flavour and full traceability from roast to cup.

Do you roast your own beans?

Yes — every single batch. Roasting in-house means we control the freshness and flavour end to end. You won't find us pulling shots from beans that have been sitting in a warehouse for weeks.

What food do you have?

Fresh pastries baked on site every day — croissants, Danishes, and whatever else has just come out of the oven. Nothing shipped in, nothing reheated from a bag.

Are you open on weekends?

Seven days a week, Monday through Sunday. No surprise closures, no random half-days. If you need a coffee, we're here.

How much does it cost?

We don't list prices online — just walk in and order at the counter. No apps, no pre-orders, no fuss. Pricing is up on the board when you get here.

Is this a chain or a franchise?

Nope — completely independent, no corporate ties. Journey Test Cafe is a small neighbourhood spot, full stop. No loyalty apps, no upselling scripts, no head office breathing down our necks.

Do I need to book ahead or download an app?

Not at all. Just come in. Order at the counter, same as it's always been. We're a neighbourhood cafe — we're just glad you stopped by.
